This week, we celebrate Active Aging Week! The week-long campaign wholeheartedly celebrates the positivity of aging today and promotes the benefits of healthier, more active lifestyles across the life span. We had a blast today during our weekly exercise class with Tyrone! After a full instructor-led workout, we utilized colorful ribbons to focus on range of motion, hand-eye coordination, and upper body strength. The class not only works up a sweat, but also produces a lot of smiles and laughter!
Tyrone has been a certified arthritis trainer through the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program for over ten years. This program is designed to help anyone who suffers from arthritis, related rheumatic diseases, or musculoskeletal conditions, allowing participants to perform activities of daily living. Residents are provided with enjoyable and safe exercises, social interaction, and an overall reduction of pain and stiffness. This class is done in a group setting every Thursday morning at 9:45am in the Wellness Room. We encourage our residents to join in to experience a more active lifestyle, improved health, and increased sense of well-being!
