Chinese New Year 2016 – The Year of the Monkey

We celebrated the Chinese New Year the best way we knew how, with great food and company. 2016 was the Year of the Monkey – the Chinese Zodiac consists of a 12 year cycle with each year named after a different animal that imparts distinct characteristics to its year.  If you were born during the Year of the Monkey you are very intelligent, able to influence people, and an enthusiastic achiever. Lanterns were made by the residents and placed in the middle of each table. For our Chinese meal, residents were served Sweet and Sour Chicken and Teriyaki Pork. Everyone received a fortune cookie that enlightened them about their future! Look for our St. Patty’s Day Themed Luncheon coming up next month!
