Isabel Cummings – Going for the Girl Scout “Gold Award”

Isabel Cummings, a junior at Longmeadow High School, approached me to a do a project creating scrapbooks for our residents in our memory care neighborhood called Pathways. She hopes her project will help create stronger bonds between caregivers, residents and their families as well as give residents a fun and meaningful activity. This picture is her and all her friends who came in to help with the project. They were all treated to an ice cream social after all their hard work. Isabel is the grand daughter of Bob and Anne Harrington who reside here at East Village Place.

Isabel has been a Girl Scout for eleven years and is currently working on her Gold Award by completing a project called “A Walk Down Memory Lane.” The Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. In fact, 5.4% of all Girl Scouts successfully earn this award. The event will be held over several Sunday afternoons and families are welcome to attend some or all sessions.

Look for future updates on Isabel’s project.
