Veteran residents in the community enjoyed an afternoon at the Springfield Armory. They were led on a wonderful tour of the 80,000 square foot facility by the National Park Service. On the tour, the National Park Service highlighted many weapons that some of our residents used when they served in conflicts like WWII and Korea. Among the many weapons displayed was Franklin D. Roosevelt’s special M1 rifle that was issued to him in 1940 which he took on many of his hunting adventures. Some residents had fun posing in front of a poster. Even my new associate Seth had a great time too!
